When will ITB Berlin NOW take place?

ITB Berlin NOW will take place from 9 to 12 March 2021 in purely digital form at www.itb.com/now. Registered participants can attend from anywhere in the world.

What are the opening hours of ITB Berlin NOW?

The official opening hours of ITB Berlin NOW are 10:00 - 18:00.

When and how long will the platform be open?

The ITB Berlin NOW platform will be open to registered users at the beginning of February 2021. Trade visitors, exhibitors and media representatives can then maintain their profiles, prepare for the live event and familiarize themselves with the platform. From 9 to 12 March 2021, the entire industry will then meet live at ITB Berlin NOW. In addition to live networking, participants* will also have access to the numerous live conference contents and news. After the event, the platform will be available for registered participants until 31 May 2021. During this period, you will also be able to view all on-demand content at a later date.

When will the new platform of the digital ITB Berlin 2021 be available online?

The new platform of the digital ITB Berlin will be available to all participants* for profile maintenance/set-up from February 2021. From March 9-12, the platform will go into live event mode and then offer you numerous valuable functions for networking, content, business and news.

How can I participate?

Interested exhibitors can book one of the 4 available exhibitor packages at www.itb.com/now. Starting in January trade visitors can register for ITB Berlin NOW and purchase a ticket. The platform will be available to all registered participants from the beginning of February.

On the online platform you can use numerous opportunities for four days to expand and maintain your network, initiate new business and cooperations and refresh your knowledge 24/7 with first-class content on hot topics. ITB Berlin NOW offers exhibitors an ideal platform for communicating corporate and marketing goals, finding new business partners and customers, and optimally expanding and maintaining their network.

In which languages will ITB Berlin NOW be available?

As an international trade fair with a focus on networking, a common language is essential for communication. For this reason, the official language on the ITB Berlin NOW platform is English.

The search function on the ITB Berlin NOW platform will be available in German and English. This means that you can also enter German terms in the search field and the platform will show you the matching results.

Which channels can I use to obtain information about ITB Berlin NOW?

In order to be up-to-date at all times, we recommend that you register for our trade visitor newsletter. Exhibitors receive all information automatically via the exhibitor newsletter. We also publish all important information on our social media channels.

What is the overall concept of the digital ITB Berlin 2021?

ITB Berlin 2021 and ITB Berlin Convention 2021 will take place from March 9 to 12 in purely digital form, offering the global travel industry a central and virtual platform for networking, business and content. The decision to stage the conference trade show digitally was made in order to give all participants* the greatest possible planning security and to continue to meet the demands of a meeting place for the global tourism industry despite numerous travel restrictions.

The world's largest travel trade fair is aimed exclusively at a professional audience and is now held on four days from Tuesday to Friday. The concept of ITB Berlin 2021 includes intelligent matching, a digital exhibition area and a top-class conference program.
Many of the offerings can be used 24/7 during the event days, so that participants can attend regardless of their location and time zone.

Why does ITB Berlin take place digitally?

The pandemic situation remains difficult, especially for the travel industry. With the decision to hold ITB Berlin 2021 purely digitally, we are giving exhibitors and trade visitors the greatest possible planning security. We have developed an alternative concept with which we, as the world's leading travel trade fair for the industry, can once again offer a reliable platform for global networking, business, content and news. The event will be highly relevant in terms of content, as the industry is dependent on business meetings, professional exchange and orientation, especially in these challenging times.

Why was ITB Berlin not postponed?

Due to the unpredictable development of the pandemic and the very international orientation of ITB Berlin with exhibitors and visitors from all over the world, a postponement within 2021 was unfortunately not an option. This made it all the more important for us to communicate already now with clear facts what the concept of ITB Berlin will look like in 2021.

Is the digital ITB Berlin 2021 a pure B2B event or will the trade show also be open to private visitors?

ITB Berlin 2021 will take place from March 9 to 12, 2021 as a pure B2B event. Due to the dynamically developing pandemic situation, the virtual trade show offerings in 2021 will focus exclusively on the trade public. We very much regret that private visitors will not be able to use the offer in 2021.

How do you ensure that enough exhibitors take part in the digital ITB Berlin 2021?

The digital exhibitor packages for ITB Berlin 2021 are designed to give you the best possible online presentation of your brand or company. The digital platform of ITB Berlin 2021 will also help you communicate your corporate and marketing goals, find new business partners and customers, and expand and maintain your network.

We are in active communication with our customers and have developed a solution to make your participation as an exhibitor worthwhile on all levels. In addition, a leading trade fair such as ITB Berlin, which has existed since 1966, can rely on a grown and loyal customer base. It is precisely because the tourism industry is suffering greatly from the crisis that participation in virtual trade fair conferences is so important as a showcase for the industry and as an efficient sales channel. And it is precisely in difficult times that the value of a strong network becomes apparent.

Will the ITB Virtual Market Place® still be offered?

On the platform of the purely virtual ITB Berlin 2021, networking and business are written in capital letters and fully integrated. Unlike in the run-up to and during a physical trade show on the exhibition grounds, the participating companies of the purely virtual ITB Berlin 2021 will not present themselves in the ITB VirtualMarketplace®, but directly on the platform. This means that efficient exhibitor and product searches, as well as communication and networking with business partners, take place directly on the platform and not via the ITB VirtualMarketplace®.

Will there be 3D stands in the virtual platform? Or am I as a visitor a 3D avatar?

There will be no 3D animated booths and no 3D animated avatars at ITB Berlin NOW. Exhibitors have the opportunity to present themselves using so-called Brand-Cards. These Brand-Cards are a kind of company profile on which different offers and services are available, depending on the package the exhibitor has booked. The exhibitor has the opportunity to present his products and can get in contact with the trade visitors via the Brand-Card. It is of course also possible for trade visitors to contact the exhibitors.

Will ITB Berlin now always be virtual? Or what will ITB Berlin 2022 look like?

ITB Berlin will take place in 2021 for the first time as a purely digital event, because the current pandemic situation makes it the safest alternative. As soon as the pandemic situation allows it, there will again be a physical and possibly hybrid ITB Berlin on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. We are still convinced that the real encounter and face to face contact cannot be replaced and will make this possible again as soon as COVID19-related risks can be excluded. For this purpose there will be digital extensions and additional offers to the physical event.

What does it cost to exhibit at the digital ITB Berlin 2021?

There are four different exhibitor packages to choose from. The packages can be ordered at the Early Bird price until 15.01.2021. From 16.01.2021 on, our regular prices apply. Please note that the package "All-In for Destinations" can only be offered to national tourism organizations, which usually present co-exhibitors.

  • Starter-Package: 800,00 € (Early Bird) / 1.200,00 € (Regular)
  • Plus-Package: 3.000,00 € (Early Bird) / 4.500,00 € (Regular)
  • All-In-Package: 8.000,00 € (Early Bird) / 10.000,00 € (Regular)
  • All-In-Package for Destinationen: 20.000,00 € (Early Bird) / 25.000,00 € (Regular)

The prices shown here are net prices plus the statutory value added tax.

What do the exhibitor packages include?

The All-In Package for Destinations is aimed at national and international tourist boards and tourist information offices that would like to present co-exhibitors on their Brand Card. In this package they can bundle and present unlimited tourist offers from their region or country under the umbrella brand of their company name and with an integrated Brand Card. It is the all-round carefree package for the very big appearance of a destination.

The All-in Package is aimed at all companies that want to take advantage of maximum visibility and all products of ITB Berlin NOW. In this package, in addition to the standard functions, it is possible to organize all sales processes and activities in the back office as well as detailed statistics on user behavior in your own profile. Those who book this package get the most out of their appearance.

The Plus Package is aimed at companies who want to know about the profiles of their platform visitors. With an investment of only 3,000.00 EUR they receive a medium-sized brand card, can describe up to 10 products, receive 10 tickets and view a database of the users of their profile directly on the platform.

The Starter Package offers for little investment visibility of the logo, 3 product entries, 5 tickets, access to networking and the conference. It is exactly the right package for all those who want to be on the platform to participate in networking, showfloor and conference at lower costs.

What functions are available to me as an exhibitor on the ITB Berlin NOW platform?

Show Floor: The Show Floor provides an overview of all exhibitors at ITB Berlin NOW, displayed in different sizes depending on the selection of their package. Various filters and the search functions allow you to find exactly the exhibitors you are looking for. As an exhibitor you can, among other things, book the Top Listing Add-on to increase your visibility on the Show Floor. In addition, the Show Floor offers several options: Set up meetings with the exhibitor of your choice or let an exhibitor know you are interested in their products. Share Brand Cards with others, such as your colleagues, or leave a bookmark to remember the exhibitor for later. All these features will be available to you from February 01, 2021 to May 31, 2021. Brand Card: The Brand Card is an interactive exhibitor profile. It bundles the important information of the exhibitor. It offers interactive possibilities and the larger and more content it is designed, the better the companies and their products can be seen and found. Appointments can be requested directly via the Brand Card and immediate networking is only a mouse click away. The design is the responsibility of the exhibitor. Depending on the size, videos, photos and PDFs can be added here. Also included: Video calls with company employees. With the all-in packages, an employee can be contacted directly in the Brandcard (without an extra click). Media upload: Sound and video files can be integrated into all Brand Cards, as well as PDFs. Tickets: Depending on the package size, the company receives a certain number of tickets or accesses to use the platform. The company can give these tickets to its own employees or to customers.

Networking: Instant networking during the four days of ITB Berlin NOW with all platform users, speakers and other exhibitors via chat and audio/video calls, planning of individual or group meetings in the platform, screen sharing, instant video calls, private text chats. The networking functionality is offered to all companies that book a Brand Card. With the Discovery Graph, users can find the right contacts from thousands of participants and get in touch with them directly. Here, interest-based suitable contacts are also suggested to open up new business. Intelligent filters and matchmaking support the efficient search. Additionally, business cards can be saved and favorites can be marked.

ITB Berlin Convention: The ITB Berlin 2021 program discusses and anticipates the future of the global travel industry. A comprehensive supporting program will take place on all four days. All platform participants will have access to live conferences with top national and international speakers, live or recorded sessions on all topics that are currently moving and advancing the travel industry.

Video on Demand: Here users can call up and watch videos according to their wishes. This offer will be available until May 31, 2021.

Profile Visits: Depending on the Brand Card or exhibitor package, companies can see who has visited their profile. Here there is the possibility to see the visitors on the platform or to export it as CSV file.

Lead reports in real time: If you book the package All-In or All-In for destinations, you can see the sales activities of your team in real time here. Tracking of user activities in your company profile, e.g. appointment requests or statistical information about who visited the company session (if there is one). Sales back office only included in the All-in package and All-in for Destinations.

Statistics after the event: extensive viewer and user statistics, only included in the two All-in packages

How much does it cost for trade visitors to attend the digital ITB Berlin 2021?

The trade visitor ticket includes access to the ITB Berlin NOW platform. There you can create your profile and get in touch with exhibitors. The trade visitor ticket also includes participation in the virtual ITB Berlin Convention 2021.

  • Exhibitor ticket bundle 5 tickets / 300,00 € (Only for exhibitors)

Who is considered a trade visitor?

If you are active in the tourism sector, you can purchase a trade visitor ticket. The purchase of a trade visitor ticket is connected with a registration. This is possible online via the ticket store.

Why are the trade visitor tickets more expensive compared to the live event?

ITB Berlin NOW clearly focuses on our trade visitors. For this reason, new offers have been developed to improve the matching between exhibitors and trade visitors. In addition, participation in all keynotes, presentations and sessions is included in the trade visitor ticket for ITB Berlin NOW. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to view and use all content at any time, not only during the official trade fair period, but far beyond.

By when do I have to register as an exhibitor for ITB Berlin 2021 at the latest?

There is no official registration deadline for the exhibitor packages Starter, Plus and All-In. You can register as an exhibitor until 08 March at the latest. Registration as an exhibitor is no longer possible on the first day of the event for technical reasons. For the exhibitor package All-In for Destinations and the co-exhibitor registration the deadline is 15 February 2021.

We have already registered for the physical ITB Berlin 2021. Do we now have to pay cancellation fees or will our registration be transferred directly to the digital offer?

Since your stand registration was non-binding and no legally binding contract has yet been concluded, you do not have to deregister, withdraw or pay any cancellation fees. We would be very pleased if you would participate in the digital ITB Berlin 2021. A corresponding registration form with all options and prices is available at itb.com/now. Due to the completely new event concept and the associated conditions of participation, an automatic transfer of the registration is unfortunately not possible.

How do I get access to the platform after purchasing a package?

After you have completed your registration as an exhibitor, you will receive three e-mails from the ITB team:

  • 1. directly after the registration at ITB.com/now you will receive a confirmation of receipt in which you can check the data you have entered.
  • 2. we will send you an order confirmation and a down payment invoice to the e-mail address you entered to receive the invoice. This e-mail is not created automatically. For this reason, there may be a few days between registration and receipt of the order confirmation.
  • 3. in addition to the order confirmation we will send you an e-mail with an access link to the ITB Berlin NOW platform. This may take a few days. The link will give you access to the platform from the beginning of February 2021, where you can complete your user profile. This e-mail will also include the additional ticket codes which you can redeem in the ticket store to get further access to the platform. Please note that you will only get access to the ITB Berlin NOW platform after you have paid the deposit invoice.

When will the invoicing take place?

As soon as you have registered for ITB Berlin NOW, your registration will be processed by the ITB team. After a few days you will receive an order confirmation and a down payment invoice for the booked exhibitor package. It is important that the down payment invoice is paid before the start of ITB Berlin NOW, otherwise your access to the platform will be blocked again until the invoice is paid. You will receive the final invoice after the event.

How can I find out if certain exhibitors are participating?

All exhibitors of the digital ITB Berlin 2021 will be available on the online platform from February 2021.

How can I register my co-exhibitors?

The registration of co-exhibitors is only possible by booking the exhibitor package "All-In for Destinations". This exhibitor package is reserved for national and international tourist boards and tourist offices.

After ordering this Exhibitor Package you will receive an e-mail with a link to the application form for co-exhibitors. There you will enter all necessary data. You can choose between the packages Starter, Plus and All-In. Your co-exhibitors will then receive their own access to the platform. Each co-exhibitor registered through you will be billed in the final invoice. Should you wish to register additional co-exhibitors at a later date, this is no problem. You can register your co-exhibitors at any time until 15.02.2021, 23:59 hrs. After this time, the co-exhibitor registration is no longer available.

Which packages are available for co-exhibitors?

When registering your co-exhibitors, you can choose between the Starter, Plus and All-In packages. These packages include the same functions as those for the main exhibitors, which you can read about under "Prices". The Co-exhibitor Packages are invoiced as follows in the final invoice of the exhibitor:

  • Starter-Package: 300,00 €
  • Plus-Package: 2.700,00 € (Early Bird) / 4.050,00 € (Regular)
  • All-In-Package: 7.200,00 € (Early Bird) / 9.000,00 € (Regular)

The prices shown here are net prices plus the statutory value added tax. The deadline for the Early Bird price is 15.01.2021. From 16.01.2021 onwards the regular price applies. The application of the co-exhibitor is valid.

Can I cancel my participation in ITB Berlin NOW?

Registration for ITB Berlin NOW via the registration form on itb.com/now is binding. This means that participation in ITB Berlin NOW cannot be cancelled. Upon receipt of the order confirmation, a sales contract will be concluded between you as an exhibitor and Messe Berlin. There is no general right of cancellation. You comply with the purchase contract by paying the deposit invoice. The deadline for registration at ITB Berlin NOW is 08 March 2021.

How can I hand over the maintenance of my Brand Card to my agency?

The contact person specified in the registration automatically becomes the admin for the Brand Card. In this function he can add further persons as Admin to his Brand Card as soon as these persons have registered on the ITB Berlin NOW platform. Simply add your contact person from the agency as Admin for your Brand Card so that they can take over the maintenance.

What additional offers are available for exhibitors?

Exhibitor Presentation: With an Exhibitor Presentation you have the opportunity to present your products and offers in a 30-minute live session. This presentation is directly linked to your Brand-Card. During the presentation you also have the opportunity to interact with your customers via a chat, Q&A or Slido surveys. The performance as a program item in the program overview under "Exhibitor Presentations" increases the visibility of your presentation and you reach a wide audience. In addition, your presentation will be recorded and uploaded as on-demand video afterwards. Throughout the entire presentation you will be supervised by one of our technical operators who will support you with the implementation. The price for an Exhibitor Presentation is 2.500,00 EUR net. Café: A café is a theme-specific lounge area where all participants can exchange ideas on a specific topic. This space reflects the live character of a café and can stimulate discussions and show a high degree of interaction through the possibility of document uploads. The Virtual Cafés can be entered permanently without access restrictions during the opening hours of ITB Berlin NOW. In addition, separate meeting rooms can be set up in the Virtual Café where private conversations can be held. You have the opportunity to open your own café or become a sponsor of an existing café. Press Conference: As an exhibitor you have the opportunity to organize your own press conference. These press conferences are primarily aimed at journalists and will be listed in the ITB Berlin NOW event program with a title of your choice and your logo. A direct link to your Brand Card allows interested participants to find out more about your products. During the press conference you will have the opportunity to interact with the participants via the chat function. A technical support team will be on hand during the event to answer any questions you may have. In addition, all press conferences will be recorded and made available afterwards as on-demand videos. How does the matching process work? How do I reach new contacts in particular?

ITB Berlin NOW Matching is based on the interests and topics you specify in your profile and enables networking with existing customers as well as with new customers. The algorithm-based matching process recommends suitable business contacts. You have the possibility to send appointment and meeting requests and keep an overview thanks to the individual calendar function. In addition, you can share your business cards or export received business cards from ITB Berlin NOW.

What we’re experiencing with COVID-19 was unimaginable for all of us. The tourism world has gone off the rails, COVID-19 has plunged the travel industry into a deep crisis of existence and purpose. And one thing becomes apparent: There is no return to an old normal. Customers will change their travel behavior, tourism providers will exit the market, others will emerge stronger from the crisis.

But we also see crises as opportunities. In crises, undesirable developments can be corrected, better things can be created. The ITB Berlin Convention 2021 will make its contribution by:

  • offering orientation in nebulous, dynamic times
  • providing food for thought for the new purpose of our industry
