Several factors have led to the decision to hold ITB Berlin as a pure B2B event from 2023 onwards. The requirements for global trade fairs have changed considerably in recent years - also, of course, due to the Corona pandemic. This is why we are joining force
s and concentrating exclusively on the tourism trade audience from 2023 onwards. The desire on the part of ITB Berlin's customers to be able to concentrate more on the respective target groups has been under discussion for some time and has become increasingly clear in surveys and individual discussions. With the new format we are meeting this demand and the feedback from the market has only confirmed this. In the past, many exhibitors have already strongly targeted the B2B audience. Operating an additional exhibitor stand on the two consumer days meant high additional costs for them - for stand personnel and conversion, for example.
With the new concept exhibitors at ITB Berlin can now focus on trade visitors, buyers and the media, i.e. on pure B2B business.
For the private visitor audience and exhibiting companies interested in travellers there is a great alternative offer: the previous B2C partner event of ITB Berlin, the Berlin Travel Festival (BTF), has already been integrated into the leisure trade show Boot & Fun Berlin in 2022. New travel and leisure offers will be supplemented here by the themes of boats, caravanning, camping and fishing. Five special trade fairs can now be found under one roof. And all this with just one ticket.
The Berlin Travel Festival offers a wide range of inspiration for individual travel planning and invites visitors to discover new destinations, holiday activities and travel trends. Diverse exhibitors from a wide range of destinations and segments are rounded off by exciting lectures, workshops and discussions. The date for 2023 has also already been set: the festival will take place from 1-3 December 2023 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds and will be open daily from 10 am to 6 pm.
